Mandatory E-Khata Registration Announced for Dharwad’s Urban Local Bodies
Dharwad: The Urban Development Department has granted approval to integrate the e-property software with the Kaveri software concerning the transfer of property rights for all urban local bodies.
It has been instructed to mandatorily obtain information through the e-property software for the registration of immovable properties within the jurisdiction of urban local bodies in the Dharwad district. Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu has informed that the government has ordered the integration of the e-property software with the Kaveri 2.0 software, effective from October 7, 2024.
In the announcement regarding this, she stated that while registering properties in the jurisdiction of urban local bodies in the Dharwad district, e-Khata must be obtained exclusively through the urban local bodies’ software at sub-registration offices.
The e-property and account software system has been implemented concerning the transfer of property rights in all urban local bodies in Dharwad district.
The benefits of e-account integration through the e-property software include preventing the public from being misled during property registration and allowing for the identification of the true nature and legitimate owners of the properties solely through e-accounts.
This system aims to prevent the registration of properties by deceiving legitimate owners and to enable buyers to identify the genuine owners of the properties. The software is designed to avoid potential disputes and legal issues that may arise in the future, as stated in the announcement.
